Discipline
Charterhouse does not believe in formal corporal punishment of students. We have clear guidelines for staff and pupils. Parents are informed of indiscipline after the forth infraction on the part of a student. We take pride in our counselling approach when dealing with the misconduct of students. In order to develop a sense of independence on occasions a student may be permitted to carry out research out of the school compound.
Pastoral Care
Our day and boarding students are provided with a warm and comfortable environment to work and play. Students are provided with a home from home environment for study and quiet contemplation. We also have a house system in place. The residential home care providers are trained as counsellors and care supporters. They are as well as educationally sound in order to help students with their academic work.
Extra-curricular activities
One of the main thrust of the school is its outdoor pursuits with sufficient provision to meet the needs of all who are interested. We also encourage students to develop their own interest in keeping with the philosophy of the school.
Contact With Parents
Charterhouse welcome contact with parents as often as they require it, in order to develop a good rapport with form teachers and principal.
Students From Overseas
Students from overseas should have a contact person when possible who can offer help and who can befriend the student. The school provides an escort service to and from the airport. Students are expected to arrive on the same date as far as possible. This is discussed with parents a month before the start of the academic year.
