Rentals

We have drawn up the following rules for kite rentals because of the risk of accidents in the case of those who are not yet in full control of the kite. We trust that you will appreciate the fact that safety is of paramount importance to us.

Those who wish to hire kite gear must have at least Level 3 proficiency and satisfy the following conditions:

1. Good health
2. Excellent swimmer
3. Ability to return to starting point at all times (Level 3)
4. Ability to sail upwind
5. Waterstart
6. Positioning and relaunch of kite after falling into the water

When you rent kite equipment, you must sign these conditions. Our on-site kite instructor will test your kiting ability in a check hour. If your kiting skills do not meet the above criteria, the rental can be converted into a course.

Instruction (US$)

Starter course includes:

• Trainer kite flying
• Powerkite flying (small 2 or 4-line leading edge inflatable kite)
• Assisted body dragging

Intermediate course includes:

• Upwind body dragging
• Water re-launching
• Self-rescue
• Larger leading edge inflatable kites
• Getting board on feet
• Kite, board and body positioning
• Powerstrokes
• Riding
• Controlling speed
• Edging

Advanced course includes:

• Riding
• Staying upwind
• Making transitions
• Small jumps

Kite supervision (US$)

Once a student can kite downwind and relaunch using his/her own equipment the following rates apply for distant supervision and provision of learning pointers:

Supervision includes:

• Assisted launching / landing
• Safety cover

Rental rates (US$)

Full rental includes:

• 1 x 2007 Cabrinha bow kite
• 1 x 2007 Cabrinha control bar
• 1 x Cabrinha / North kiteboard
• 1 x Harness
• 1 x Buoyancy vest
• 1 x Gath helmet

- We only rent equipment if clients can comfortably kite upwind - our instructor decides. Otherwise, the rental will be converted into a private lesson, charged at the standard rates for instruction.
- To pre-book equipment for non-consecutive days, add 20%. We advise guests to bring their own harnesses but have some available for use, free of charge.

Boat rescue

Independent kiters who have not taken the KiteEazy package will be charged US$30 per boat rescue .

Rental insurance

Due to the nature of the sport, we do not offer equipment damage insurance for kitesurfing rentals. Customers must pay for all loss or damage to rental equipment.
