Beachfront land like this in the north of St Lucia would have been snapped up ages ago by a developer, and a villa, condo development or small boutique hotel built on it. The south of St Lucia, however, being more laid-back and not particularly driven by the tourist dollar, can still make someone's dream of building and owning a beachfront home in the Caribbean come true - something that only the ultra-rich could contemplate in other islands!

Sandy Beach (or Anse de Sables, as it was originally known) is one of St Lucia's longest, most unspoilt, and certainly the most easily accessible long sandy beach, with a mile of soft yellow sand stretching to a point ('Lonely Tree Point') before continuing on into the next bay, Bwa Chadon, and on for another 3 kilometers or so to Savannes Bay.

All this area, including the two off-shore Maria Islands (home to one of the world's rarest species of animal) are part of the Pointe Sable Environmental Protected Area, or PSEPA, a conglomerate of national, regional and international organizations all aiming to protect this unique reef-protected sea-scape and landscape in the south-east of St Lucia. Long off-shore coral reefs, precious mangroves, a magnificent peninsula, and glorious trade winds make this not only one of the most striking areas of St Lucia, but also one of the most beloved: both by islanders and those from overseas who have discovered the majesty of the south. Wind- and kitesurfers come from all around the globe to enjoy the steady trade winds and skim the waters of Anse de Sables. On weekends and holidays, local youngsters play on the beach, go spear fishing, ride their horses and play cricket or football, while adults enjoy a cool drink and a chat, or light the barbecue to grill some freshly-caught fish or lobster.

The Moule a Chique peninsula which embraces the Anse de Sables bay, rises to a height of more than 700 feet, and is home to the world's 2nd highest lighthouse. Just above the southern-most tip of the beach, and a little way up the peninsula, lies this lot of land for sale that allows for beach access, while at the same time being sufficiently high above the beach to give panoramic views, make the most of the sea breezes, and to give it privacy and security.

The lot is 24,655 sq ft in size, and more or less rectangular in proportions. It has access from the top, and runs down the hillside to a point about two-thirds of the way down to where the Queen's Chain begins. This is an area all around the coast of St Lucia which belongs to the Crown, and which (with a few select exceptions) cannot be privately owned. The land has unsealed but good, motorable road access. The nearest house is about 150 meters away, and that is also the nearest place where electricity, mains water and telecom services are all available. Compared to beachfront land prices in the north of the island and elsewhere, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
