Talk about a property with a view...! This villa in the Anse Chastanet area of Soufriere occupies one of the most stunning locations anywhere in the Caribbean. Perched on just under two acres of land, on a promontory called Lookout Point, 300 feet above the Caribbean Sea, this villa faces due south to the majestic Pitons, and offers access to a small secluded pebbled beach. The view is breathtaking, extending 180 degrees from Soufriere Bay, across the Pitons, St Vincent and around to the setting sun in the west. Clouds drifting in from the Atlantic on the eastern side of the island can produce ever-changing light conditions to illuminate the Pitons as they rise 2,500 feet out of the clear sea, the colour of which varies from brilliant turquoise to deep blue. This most dynamic of panoramas provides a magnificent backdrop for this charming 6,000 sq ft house, making it a wonderful place to live, entertain, relax and unwind.

The living area consists of a gargantuan (60ft x 30ft) sitting room, with a polished hardwood floor and large white sofas: ample space, in other words, for entertaining or to find a quiet corner to read and unwind. The end third of the sitting room is a covered verandah with views of the Pitons and views across the deck and pool area to the west. A perfect place to sip rum punch and watch the sun go down!

Another focal point of this splendid villa is the 30 foot-long infinity edge swimming pool, which comes with an extensive deck area shaped like the stern of a steamer. Below the house, a steep path and steps lead down to a secluded stone and pebble beach on a marine reserve, where there is beautiful snorkeling and diving to be had. Two-thirds of this property sits on what is known as 'the Queen's Chain' and, highly unusually for St Lucia (where almost all beaches are public), this part of the Queen's Chain is actually owned outright.

Originally built in 1982, and completely revamped in 2004, the villa now houses 5 bedrooms, and can sleep a total of 12 persons. The master suite features a king-size, locally made, four poster bed as well as a dressing area, twin bedded children's room, an en-suite shower room and private balcony. There are louvered shutters, a ceiling fan and access to a front balcony facing the Pitons.
Across the landing, and sharing the same front balcony, is a second bedroom with four poster king size double bed, a dressing area and an en-suite shower room. Like the master bedroom, it has a balcony that faces the Pitons.
The two other double bedrooms also have balconies with full views of the Pitons and the sea. These two rooms are air-conditioned, and kitted out with low level king size beds. Each has an en-suite shower room.
Finally, there is a fifth bedroom, also with en-suite facilities, and a king size bed. There is also a downstairs shower room, sink, bidet and toilet.

The professional kitchen comes fully kitted out with a five burner gas hob, Neff oven, larder fridge, large freezer, drinks fridge, ice maker, ice cream maker and other small appliances and utensils. Two sinks offer preparation and clearing areas. Outside the kitchen and dining room is a substantial brick BBQ and bottle gas ring, ideal for a barbequed fish supper or a quick omelette at breakfast.
The villa has a strong short-term rental history, and enjoys top-tier rates.
