National Junior Calypso competition

    Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 February: National Junior Calypso competition. For primary and secondary schools. Venue: Marchand Grounds.

Cul-de-Sac Funpark

    Until the end of February: Taylor's Fun Fair Amusements of London at Cul-de-Sac. With twelve different rides and twelve different games. Every day from 5pm, on weekends from 3pm.

National Day of Prayer

    Tuesday 20 Feb: National Day of Prayer at the Castries Methodist Church.

Miss Central Castries Pageant

    Wednesday 21 Feb: Miss Central Castries pageant.

Independence Day

    Thursday 22 Feb: Independence Day. Parade at Mindoo Phillip Park at 7:30 am, followed by Ecumenical service at Vigie Sports Complex. Service organised by St. Lucia Christian Council. Evening: National Gospel Concert at Derek Walcott Square. This year's theme: 'Respect, Tolerance and Togetherness'.

Miss West Indies Pageant

    Monday 26 February: Miss West Indies Pageant. With St. Lucia's candidate, Queen of Peace, Sherydan Carla Eleuthere from Babonneau.

Poverty Meal

    Sunday 11 March, 12 noon - 2:30 pm: annual Poverty Meal for Marian Home for the Elderly. Under patronage of Governor General Dame Pearlette Louisy. Venue: The guest house villa Santa Maria, Mount of Prayer, Coubaril, Castries. $50 per person: 1 bowl soup, 1 roll, water.

Motor Treasure Hunt

    18 March: Charity Motor Treasure Hunt. Organised by the Rotary Club of St. Lucia. Competitive, navigational, automotive fun event held on public roads in compliance with prevailing traffic laws, giving particpants the opportunity to learn and experience more about the culture, history, environment and touristic attributes of St. Lucia.

    May 11, Rodney Bay: trumpet player Clarke Terry and jazz pianist Randy Weston
    May 12, Pigeon Island: R&B musician Carl Thomas, Jill Scott, Eric Benet and Miriam Makeba.
    May 13, Pigeon Island: Luther Vandross, Paco Chalery, Malcolm Jamal Warner and his band Miles Long, and the Cuban band Havana Casino.

Youth Celebrity Golf Tournament
