Wesleyan Churches Youth Congress
From Sunday 6th August: six days of Wesleyan Churches of the Caribbean Congress. Under the motto 'Moving forward with Purity and Power'. Venue: Caribbees Hotel. Expected to bring some 200 participants together from Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and St. Lucia.

Rural Enterprise Project Awareness Month
August: St. Lucia Rural Enterprise Project (SLREP) month. With summer camps for school children in the communities of Bouton, Fond St. Jacques, Caferiere, Grace, Ti Rocher, Mon Repos. Also rural animation with Tanbou Mele, community events in Riviere Doree, an open day in Delcer/La pointe on Sunday 27th August and a Walaba cricket match involving women from the communities.
Swimming Coaches Clinic
7th-11th August: Swimming Coaches Clinic organised by the St. Lucia Amateur Swimming Association, with international help. On 7th and 8th August at Bay Gardens Hotel, from 5pm till 7pm and on 9th and 11th August at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre. Interested persons should contact David Peterkin at 452-1379 or register on 7th August between 4:30pm and 5pm at the Bay Gardens Conference Room. Admission free.

Step Aerobics marathon for Red Cross
Sunday 13th August: Step Aerobics marathon. Fundraising event for the St. Lucia Red Cross. Venue: Vigie Multi Purpose Sports Complex. Marathon and exhibition of fitness and nutrition-related information. Registration: $20, entrance fee $10. Registration forms available from gyms, Red Cross Association and all Courts stores.
Junior International Tennis Tournament
Monday 14th August: start of the 17th Annual ITF Coca Cola Junior International Tennis Tournament, at the St. Lucia Racquet Club, 5:00pm. Bringing together almost 100 playesr from around the world. Sponsored by Dunstan and Jane DuBoulay. No admission charge so come and see the matches. Lasts until 19th August.

Showcase 2000 Trade Fair
