St. Lucia in Concert - Weekly Folk Party
Every Thursday evening at 7:00 pm: 'St. Lucia in Concert - A Folk Party', organised by the Folk Research Centre at Indies Nightclub. An avenue for entertainment and education for locals and visitors. With a cast of seasoned performers including Keton's Violin Band, the Charmalion Dancers, Dezagwyab drummers and all-female steel pan band Allegro Pan Groove. Free Spanish classes
Tuesday 2nd May: commencement of Free Spanish classes at Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Co-operation, Gardina Avenue, Sans Soucis. Classes for Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Conversation levels, twice a week from Monday to Thursday. Registration for persons who are already students: Monday 17th to Thursday 20th May. Year 2000 Essay Competition
Year 2000 essay competition for students aged 15-18. Organised by Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. $15,000 in prizes for schools and individual participants. Topic: "Even as they seek enforcement of the WTO ruling which could adversely affect the region's banana industry, the US is actively courting our assistance in their fight against drug trafficking and money laundering.
