Marriage seminars

    Free marriage seminars given by Reverend John and Kathy Nash from Atlanta, Georgia.

Protocol II Meetings

    Wednesday 19th - Friday 21st July, three days of meetings to discuss the consequences of implementing the nine protocols amending the Caricom Treaty of Chaguaramas [see News Page]. Paradise Regained in Montserrat

    Until 23rd July: Paradise Regained Festival - two week-festival in Montserrat for Caribbean residents and neighbours of Montserrat in an effort to revitalise the tourism industry. With a food fair, theatrical productions, beach picnics, masquerades, concerts, gala reception, variety shows, a Millennium Ball, celebrity cookout, lots of Irish music, dance and masquerades and special activities for children (beach games, old time games, art and dance lessons, poetry reading, story telling and face painting). Kids learn to play Pan

    24th July until 5th August: 2 week Pan Summer Programme: workshop for kids to learn to play pan. Hosted by Allegro Pan Groove & Isis Pantime. First session: Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 12 noon; 2nd session: 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Registration fee: $50.00, all instruments and sticks provided. Age requirement: 8 years and upwards. Outback expedition

    17th-21st July: Vacation Bible School outback expedition. Venue: Vide Bouteille secondary school, La Clery. For children from 5 to 12 years, sponsored by the Trinity Lutheran Church. For more info, call 450-1484, 453-7857 or 451-7432.

FRC Summer Workshop

    24th July - 5th August: summer workshop for teenagers (aged 13-19), organised by the Folk Research Centre. Skills training in theatre with Errol Fabien of Trinidad. Venue: Folk Research Centre, Mount Pleasant, Castries.
    31st July - 12th August: summer workshop for kids aged 6-12, with Chrstine Samuel of the Christylights Dance Centre and the St. Lucian Dance Theatre Company Company. Venue: Castries Comprehensive School. For more info and early registration, call June Frederick at the FRC.

Children with special needs summer camp

    24th July - 11th August: third annual summer camp for children with special needs. To be held at the Donnottar School. organised by the Child Development and Guidance Centre.

Grande Riviere Junior Club

    25th July until 25th August: Grande Riviere Junior Club Summer 2000 programme. Held at the Vide Bouteille Secondary School, from 9am to 2:30 pm, for ages 2-16.
    Kindergarden: learning with video aids; Summer School: Reading, writing, maths etc.; Computer programme: internet and email. Also: Arts & Crafts, singing, drama, educational tours. Fees cover snaks and transportation. For more info, call: 450-3547 or 452-6601.

Pine Hill Walk 'n Win

    Sunday 6th August: Walk 'n Win. The Pine Hill Walk 2000, with several prizes to be won. Start: Vigie Playing Field, finish: Pigeon Point. Starting time 6:30 am. Registration fee: $5.00.

Step Aerobics marathon for Red Cross

    Sunday 13th August: Step Aerobics marathon. Fundraising event for the St. Lucia Red Cross. Venue: Vigie Multi Purpose Sports Complex. Marathon and exhibition of fitness and nutrition-related information. Registration: $20, entrance fee $10. Registration forms available from gyms, Red Cross Association and all Courts stores.

Carifesta II: Caribbean Festival of Arts 2000

    17th-26th August: Caribbean Festival of Arts, Carifesta. In St. Kitts and Nevis. For information, call 453-2338.

Showcase 2000 Trade Fair

    17-20 August: Showcase 2000 Annual Trade Fair, this year in Grenada. Open to manufacturers from the whole region. Expected to attract over 15,000 viewers. For more info, please call the ministry of Commerce at 452-1706 or 468-4211.

International Woodworking Fair

Science of Steelpan Conference

    16th-18th October: First International Conference on the Science and Technology of the Steelpan. To be held at Crowne Plaza in Trinidad & Tobago. Organised by the University of the West Indies.
