Competitive, navigational, automotive fun event held on public roads in compliance with prevailing traffic laws, giving particpants the opportunity to learn and experience more about the culture, history, environment and touristic attributes of St. Lucia.

Monday 1st April until March 12th: registration for the recommencement of free Spanish classes offered by the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation. Venue: Venezuelan Institute, Sans Soucis, Castries. Classes at Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Conversation levels. Get an application form at the Institute or call 452-2555 for further details. Sunday 1st July: Calypso semi-finals. Friday 6th July: Carnival Queen Show Saturday 7th July: Soca Monarch Finals. Monday 9th July: Carnival Street Party. Wednesday 11th July: St. Lucia Brass Festival (organised by Funatix Band). Friday 13th July: Panorama. Saturday 14th July: Calypso Monarch Finals. Sunday 15th July: Junior Carnival and King and Queen of the Bands. Monday 16th July: Jour Ouvert, followed by the carnival pageant and judging of the bands. Parade of the Bands starts at 1:00 pm. 28th July: official prize-giving ceremony for all carnival activities.
