Motor Treasure Hunt

18 March: Charity Motor Treasure Hunt. Organised by the Rotary Club of St. Lucia. Competitive, navigational, automotive fun event held on public roads in compliance with prevailing traffic laws, giving particpants the opportunity to learn and experience more about the culture, history, environment and touristic attributes of St. Lucia.

National Extempo Competition

Friday 30th March: National Extempo Competition. Participants contact the management of Soca Village International Inc. or St. Lucia Calypso Association for application forms.

Saturday 31 March: Festival of Comedy. Venue: Piegon Island.

Ladies of Gospel

Saturday 31st March: St. Lucia's Ladies of Gospel. With the most talented female gospel singers from around the island. Venue: National Cultural Centre, Castries. Hosted by Rachel Deterville and Anselma St. Prix.

Free Spanish Classes

Monday 1st April until March 12th: registration for the recommencement of free Spanish classes offered by the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation. Venue: Venezuelan Institute, Sans Soucis, Castries. Classes at Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Conversation levels. Get an application form at the Institute or call 452-2555 for further details. Registration from March 12th-23rd, 1:00 pm-8:00 pm.

Funatix launches

1st May: Launching of carnival band 'Funatix' at Pigeon Point. With Edwin Yearwood and Alison Hinds. Further launchings in New York (26 May) and Martinique (9th June). 26th May: motorcade around the island, with costumes on display.

May10, Rodney Bay: Carmen Lundy, Horizon and Taj Mahal.
May 10 and 11, Hyatt Regency: Ronnie Laws
May 11, Rodney Bay: trumpet player Clarke Terry and jazz pianist Randy Weston
May 12, Pigeon Island: R&B musician Carl Thomas, Jill Scott, Eric Benet and Miriam Makeba.
May 13, Pigeon Island: Luther Vandross, Paco Chalery, Malcolm Jamal Warner and his band Miles Long, and the Cuban band Havana Casino.

12th May: Soca Jazz party with Square One. Organised by Funatix.

Friday 6th July: Carnival Queen Show
Saturday 7th July: Soca Monarch Finals.
Monday 9th July: Carnival Street Party.
Wednesday 11th July: St. Lucia Brass Festival (organised by Funatix Band).
Friday 13th July: Panorama.
Saturday 14th July: Calypso Monarch Finals.
Sunday 15th July: Junior Carnival and King and Queen of the Bands.
Monday 16th July: Jour Ouvert, followed by the carnival pageant and judging of the bands. Parade of the Bands starts at 1:00 pm.
28th July: official prize-giving ceremony for all carnival activities.

Herbal Medicines symposium
