Week of St. Cecilia Feast activities
19-25th November: week long celebration of the feast of St. Cecilia. With a church service on Sunday 19 at Anse la Raye, and a choir festival in the evening. Monday: kareoke at Derek Walcott Square (evening). Wednesday 22nd November: morning serenades and pandemonium, also on Derek Walcott Square, and the Cecilian Rays (choir) celebrating their birthday. Friday 24th November: musical show 'Flash back' at the National Cultural Centre. Throughout the week: school concerts and performances by the Police Band.
Classical Piano Recitals
Thursday 23rd November: Antony Peebles plays List, the 'Hungarian Rhapsody' and Grieg Concerto. Monday 4 December: Tobin Colvill plays Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Chopin, Grieg and Addinsell ('Warsaw Concerto'). Both concerts organised by the School of Music in collaboration with the British High Commission. Both concerts take place at the National Cultural Centre and start at 8:00 pm. Admission: adults $20, children and School of Music students $10. Proceeds in aid of the student's scholarship fund and the new building fund.
A Day at the Races
Saturday 25th November: A Day at the Races, at Trim's Riding Stables, Cas-en-Bas, Gros Islet. Organised by the St. Lucia Turf and Jockey Club. From 1:30 m onwards, with plenty of horse racing action: full thoroughbreds, upgraded creoles and local creoles. Admission $5.

Schools Quadrille Festival
26th November, 3 pm: annual Schools Quadrille Festival, with twelve primary schools from Castries, plus Grand Riviere. At the Castries Secondary School auditorium. With additional entertainment by Les Enfants and the Crystallights Dance Troop. Entrance $5.
Buy Local Calypso Competition
26th November: Buy Local Calypso Competition. Organised by the ministry of Commerce and the St. Lucia Calypsonian Association. For more info, contact Isai Hall, Lorna Lubrun or Andrea Isaac at the ministry. Reigning king is De Invader since the last Buy Local Calypso competition in 1995.
Annual Road Race
26th November, 3:00 pm: Annual Road Race. Organized by Paradise Springs and the Ministry of Youth & Sports. Starts and ends at the Vieux Fort Town Square. Registration $5.00 individual, $15.00 team. Miss Yuletide Pageant
Wednesday 29th November, 7 pm: annual Miss Yuletide Pageant. St. Lucia's best models plus dazzling international models from Venezuela, Guatemala, etc. Tickets: $30.00 advance, $35 at the door.
Caribbean Collection 2000
Thursday 30th November: Make up and Accessory Day Friday 1st December: Caribbean Collection, grand show at the National Cultural Centre with a performance by all-female group Sisterhood. Saturday 2nd December: mini symposium for local fashion designers at the NRDF. Sunday 3rd December, afternoon: fashion show at the Rex St. Lucian Hotel featuring local designers. 9 and 10 December: opening performances of Roddy Walcott's 'Papa Diable - the Devil at Christmas' by the Folk Research Centre's Folk Theatre Production. Directed by Ellen Camps, with Cephas Branford, Larry Bain, Travis Bain, Gary Burte and Dane Jacobs. Middle of December: Errol Hill's 'Strictly Matrimony', directed by Kendall Hippolyte. With Nathaniel Reynolds. Also: a performance of 'Waiting' by director Merle Niles of WWB, Barbados. 23rd December: Che Campeche at the National Cultural Centre with Kweyol theatre.
