Friday 25th May: Take Over Tent pre-launch Jam in Anse la Raye, during that town's Friday night Fish Fry. With performances by Herb Black, Walleigh, Nadiege, Black Pearl and several others.
Consumer sensitization meetings
The ministry of Commerce and Consumer Affairs convenes three public meetings on issues of consumer interest and the role of independent consumer groups in a market economy. The venues and times are: Tuesday 22nd May, Vieux Fort Senior Primary School; Wednesday 23rd May, Soufriere Town Hall; Thursday 24th May: Castries City Hall. All meetings start at 7:00 pm.
National Alliance for Unity rallies
Sunday 27th May: launch of the NAU with a church service at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Castries, followed by a political rally. Sunday 3rd June: church service and political rally of the NAU in Vieux Fort.
35th Independence Day of Guyana
Saturday 26th May: Members and friends of the Guyana St. Lucia Association commemorate the 35th anniversary of Independence in Guyana. Venue: the Wesleyan Holiness Church on High Street, Castries, from 4:00 pm. The service will be succeeded by a reception.
Soca Village launches
Friday 1st June: Launch of Soca Village at the National Cultural Centre. Calypsonians affiliated with Soca Village this year are: Invader, Educator, Lord Help Me, Super Sweet, Teddy Zee, Mar G, Running Man, The Media and Chippy. Back-up band: Wezon.

Every second Thursday of the month, from 5:00 pm onwards: meetings of the St. Lucia Arthritis and Lupus Association. Venue: Blind Welfare Association, Sans Soucis, Castries.

Wednesday 11th July: St. Lucia Brass Festival (organised by Funatix Band). Friday 13th July: Panorama. Saturday 14th July: Calypso Monarch Finals. Sunday 15th July: Junior Carnival and King and Queen of the Bands. Monday 16th July: Jour Ouvert, followed by the carnival pageant and judging of the bands. Parade of the Bands starts at 1:00 pm. 28th July: official prize-giving ceremony for all carnival activities.
