Anti-Litter March in Soufriere

    Friday 27th October: Anti-litter March from 10:00 am through the town of Soufriere. With speeches by the minister for the Environment and a perfomance by Soufriere Action Theatre. Organised by the St. Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority.

National Clean-Up Days

    27, 28, 29th October: National Clean-Up Days. This year organised by the Solid Waste Management Authority.

Annual Small Hotels Retreat

    25th-28th October: Annual Small Hotels Retreat. To be held at the Hyatt Regency hotel. Brings together small hoteliers from the whole Caribbean region. Organised by the Caribbean Hotel Association. Includes a Travel Agent Showcase. Travel Agents Caribbean Showcase

    27-29th October: Travel Agents Caribbean Showcase. Organised by the Caribbean Hotel Association. Venue: Hyatt Regency hotel, St. Lucia. Informal platform for Caribbean hoteliers of small size properties to promote their resorts to travel agents from North America and the Caribbean.

Dominica World Creole Music Festival

    27th-29th October: Dominica World Creole Music Festival. With creole food, fashion and of course music in the genres of Soukous, Salsa, Zouk, Zydeco, Cadence, Compa, Quadrille and even some Reggae. In St. Lucia, tickets ($50 p/night or $125 for the entire three-day event) are available at Carib Travel, EC Express and Air Jamaica.

HMS Cardiff visits St. Lucia

    Saturday 28th October: official reception for 100 local dignitaries on board of the Royal Navy vessel HMS Cardiff. Meanwhile, a campany from the ship will assist the National Trust in cleaning up the military cemetery at Pigeon Island.
    Sunday 29th October, 10am: wreath laying ceremony at the war graves at Choc cemetery by the ship's honour guard.
    Also Sunday: between 2pm and 4.30 pm: tours of the ship for the public. HMS Cardiff will be docked alongside berths no.2 and 3 on the Northern Wharf in Castries.

Miss Big & Beautiful Pageant

    Sunday 29th October: Miss Big & Beautiful pageant. Organised by Victoria's Friends. With six contestants representing different sections of the hospital. All funds destined for the upkeep of Victoria Hospital. With supporting acts by TC Brown, Nickie Crosby, Errol Fabian and Reasons' Orchestra. Tickets at $40 available at Y de Lima, Book Salon, Colletta's Boutique, Sunshine Bookstore and Shernell's Pizza. Venue: National Cultural Centre, starts at 6 pm.

Ste. Lisi Par Excellence nomination

    Friday 3rd November: nominations ceremony for the Ste. Lisi Par Excellence Awards 2001. Venue: Indies Nightclub. Celebration by more than 200 tourism sector employees who have been nominated for the awards.

Junior Quadrille Dance Festival

    November: Junior Quadrille Dance Festival.

Canadian Construction Showcase

    6-7 November: Canadian Construction & Building Products Showcase. Venue: Sherbourne Conference Centre, Barbados. With free technical seminars on the latest products and technologies in the construction industry. Registration free. Buy Local Calypso Competition

    26th November: Buy Local Calypso Competition. Organised by the ministry of Commerce and the St. Lucia Calypsonian Association. For more info, contact Isai Hall, Lorna Lubrun or Andrea Isaac at the ministry. Reigning king is De Invader since the last Buy Local Calypso competition in 1995.

Annual Road Race

    26th November, 3:00 pm: Annual Road Race. Organized by Paradise Springs and the Ministry of Youth & Sports. Starts and ends at the Vieux Fort Town Square. Caribbean Collection 2000

    Thursday 30th November: Make up and Accessory Day
    Friday 1st December: Caribbean Collection, grand show at the National Cultural Centre with a performance by all-female group Sisterhood.
    Saturday 2nd December: mini symposium for local fashion designers at the NRDF.
    Sunday 3rd December, afternoon: fashion show at the Rex St. Lucian Hotel featuring local designers.
