National Extempo Competition
Festival of Comedy
Saturday 31st March: Festival of Comedy at Pigeon Island. With Laff-it-Off Productions in its original cast: Wendell Smith (Cranston Pollard Esquire), Tony Thompson (Lemuel 'Tic Pap' Rice), Peta Alleyna (Wilhelmina Herrassofat), Marcia Burrowes (Nooksina Eglantina Pollard OBE-Obea-Women Extraordinaire) and John Walcott (Foo-Foo). With skits such as 'Technicians 'R' US' and 'Criminals Against Crime'.
'Just Gospel'
Saturday 31st March: Gospelfestival with St. Lucia's Ladies of Gospel: 'Just Gospel'. Venue: National Cultural Centre. In collaboration with HTS television. With Rachel Deterville and Anselma St. Prix as hostesses and appearances by Sheila Innocent, Shirley-Ann Cyril, Esther Hippolyte, Callista Emmanus, Becky Sonson and Karen Louisy.

May 10 and 11, Hyatt Regency: Ronnie Laws May 11, Rodney Bay: trumpet player Clarke Terry and jazz pianist Randy Weston May 12, Pigeon Island: R&B musician Carl Thomas, Jill Scott, Eric Benet and Miriam Makeba. May 13, Pigeon Island: Luther Vandross, Paco Chalery, Malcolm Jamal Warner and his band Miles Long, and the Cuban band Havana Casino.

Sunday 1st July: Calypso semi-finals. Friday 6th July: Carnival Queen Show Saturday 7th July: Soca Monarch Finals. Monday 9th July: Carnival Street Party. Wednesday 11th July: St. Lucia Brass Festival (organised by Funatix Band). Friday 13th July: Panorama. Saturday 14th July: Calypso Monarch Finals. Sunday 15th July: Junior Carnival and King and Queen of the Bands. Monday 16th July: Jour Ouvert, followed by the carnival pageant and judging of the bands. Parade of the Bands starts at 1:00 pm. 28th July: official prize-giving ceremony for all carnival activities.
