Accounts Clerk at PRF

    The Poverty Reduction Fund (PRF) seeks to hire an Accounts Clerk to assist the Project Accountant in maintaining accurate and up-to-date cacounts information on all aspects of the PRF's work. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    Responsibilities:
    *
    Preparing purchase orders and cheques for verification and signature;
    * Maintaining the Petty Cash Account;

Accounts Officer at Ministry of Agriculture

    The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries invites applications to the post of Accounts Officer for its Agricultural Diversification Unit under the Agricultural Diversification Programme. This programme is funded by the European Union (SFA funds) and the Government of St. Lucia.
    Relationships and responsibilities:
    * Works under the direction of and reports to the Project Manager of the Agricultural Diversification Programme;
    * Responsible for the accounting needs of the ADMCU by keeping track of all programme funds.
    Duties and functions:
    * Responsible for maintaining and updating all ledger and financial records and processing of accounts receivable and payables on a timely basis;
    * Supervises project expenditure ensuring full compliance with EDF financial and procurement rules;
    * Pays invoices and prepares cheques in respect of the agricultural diversification programme;
    * Prepares the monthly bank reconciliation statements for the agricultural diversification programme;
    * Generates monthly, quarterly and annual reports and financial statements for programme budgetary control and input into programme progress report;
    * Monitors and controls the programme finances;

    Qualifications and experience:
    * BSc. in Accounting or a graduate of the AAT programme or at least completion of level II of ACCA or the CGA;
    * Three years experience in an accounting position;
    * Computer literacy.
    Skills, knowledge and conditions:
    * Ability to communicate effectively;
    * Good writing skills;
    * Knowledge of EDF procedures.

IT Officer at CSCCU

    The main functions of the post are:
    * To control, support and maintain complete, high integrity of systems, databases and hardware which the Civil Service Cooperative Credit Union (CSCCU) owns or has direct responsibilities and interest in;

    Secretary General
    Reporting to the Executive Committee of the Association, the Secretary-General heads a staff of 14 and is primarily responsible for the overall promotion of the Association's activities. The Secretary-General is the chief executive officer of the Association and, in that capacity, administers its affairs and manages the staff of its Secretariat. He/she will be a person who has demonstrated leadership qualities and will have an extensive knowledge of Commonwealth and parliamentary affairs.
    The appointment will be for a five-year contract period from 1 January 2002. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will not be less than £70,000 p.a. In addition an overseas allowance of 15% of the gross salary will be paid to a successful applicant from outside the British Isles. A non-contributory pension plan and health care insurance are also provided.

Project Assistant at SLHTA

    The St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association invites applications for the post of Project Assistant for a short-term assignment, not exceeding 12 months. The Association is soon to benefit from grant funding from the European Union through the Office of Private Sector Relations, and from the Caribbean Programme for Economic Competitiveness (CPEC).
    These grants are to finance tourism related activities in the areas of: training, marketing, public awareness, promotion of international competitiveness and organisation strengthening. The successful applicant will report to the Executive Vice President and will be responsible for carrying out the duties outlined below:
    Duties of the post:
    * Assist in the detailed design and coordination of implementation of project activities;

    Experience and qualifications:
