Landfill Technician at SLSWMA

    Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the position of Landfill Technician within the St. Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority.
    Qualifications:
    1. Minimum qualifications are successful completion of a tertiary level programme in an engineering related field.
    2. Additionally, the candidate is expected to possess a minimum of three years relevant working experience, supervising and monitoring works inclusive of earthworks and preparation and maintenance of records and reports of such.
    General Accountability:
    The landfill technician will report to the Operations Manager and the Employer's Representative on the Deglos Landfill Project to ensure the efficient monitoring of works, maintenance of work schedules and the preparation of such. The candidate would also be required to demonstrate an understanding of building quantities and an ability to interpret engineering drawings.
    Duties and responsibilities:
    1. Work in close collaboration with the Operations Manager and the Employer's Representative to ensure the efficient monitoring of works and timely completion of tasks. Tasks will include the preparation of regular reports for submission to the Operations Manager, including, but not limited to, contractor performance, accidents and incidents.
    2. Maintain records of daily activities in a format that is easily retrievable and comprehensive.
    3. Ensure maintenance of contract specifications inclusive of QA/QC and report any irregularities to the Operations Manager in writing.
    4. Liaise with the Contractor's Representative as directed by the Operations Manager and Employer's Representative.
    5. Assist with Public Education Programs related to the Deglos Landfill as required.
    6. Perform other related duties assigned by the Operations Manager or the General Manager.
    Conditions:
    The services of the Landfill Technician shall be retained for the period of construction of the Deglos Landfill a minimum employment period of 15 months.

Community Worker at Basic Needs Trust Fund
