    The St. Lucia Marketing Board invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of General Manager. Duties:
    The General Manager will be required to:
    * Be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the St. Lucia Marketing Board;

Regional Manager at Sandals

    Position description: Regional Manager for the Eastern Caribbean. Reports to: Managing Director, SRI and Chairman, SRI. Direct relationships: All Directors, SRI and General Managers, Eastern Caribbean.
    Summary: This position is responsible for the overall operation of Sandals Resorts in the Eastern Caribbean, including but not limited to St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbados. Additionally, this position is responsible for Government relationships, relationships with the business community and the ongoing successful development of the Sandals product and image.
    Essential functions:
    * Administrative; review hotel and SRI reports daily and respond accordingly. Maintain SRI office in the Eastern Caribbean; communicate regularly with General Managers at each property, communicate regularly with SRI in Jamaica.
    * Recruitment, hiring and firing of General Managers, maintaining relationships with each.
    * Community affairs; involvement with both business and government communities; maintaining strong relationships.
    * Tour properties, review and inspect each property regularly.
    * Maintain cost control; identify and control internal and external costs; establish conformity to Sandals procedures; maintain established costs; build appropriate purchasing programs.
    * Training, develop and implement training program for Sandals management; incorporate modern and relative management principles.
    * Environment; ensure that Sandals represents a strong influence on the continuing protection of the environment; establish energy efficient processes; establish energy conservation processes; develop awareness of the importance of environmental protection programs.
    * Travel; attend various meetings throughout the Caribbean and the United States.
    * Maintain safety; assure safety procedures are in place throughout the Sandals Environment.
    Specific job knowledge, skill and ability:
    * Extensive knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, security and safety, personnel and labour relations, preparation of business plans, repairs and maintenance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, quality assurance, law and the development of long range planning.
    * Leadership skills to develop and motivate staff to ensure accomplishment of goals. Able to set priorities, plan, organise, delegate and control.
    * Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with management and staff. Being persuasive, clear and to-the-point. Written communication skills to be concise, well organised, complete, clear and understandable in order to formulate complex reports and communicate with the public, staff, SRI offices and the Governments.
    Experience:
    * Minimum of 20 years in the Hotel Industry.
    * Experience in all phases of hotel management.
