Mechanical/Electrical Engineer at NIPRO

Executive Officer at Banana Trust

    The Trust for the Banana Industry of St. Lucia invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the appointment, on a one year renewable contract basis, to the post of Trust Executive Officer. This is a management position and the person selected would be the Chief Executive Officer of the Trust, responsible for day to day management of its financial and administrative affairs. The responsibilities of the Trust Executive Officer will include, but not be limited to, the following:
    Financial duties:
    * The officer shall be required to administer Grant funds of the Trust according to the criteria laid down by the NAO or relevant donors and co-ordinate a related credit programme under the management of a Financial Institution(s) with this programme;
    * Appraise applications for Grant assistance for project financing, training, capacity building or other appropriate support services;
    * Presentation of programme appraisals and recommendations where appropriate, to relevant Advisory Committees of the Trust to facilitate efficient deliberations and processing of project agreements;
    * Recommend relevant criteria under which disbursements should be made according to project or programme type;
    * Monitor the activities and disbursements of credit programmes adminstered by Financial Institutions to ensure proper fulfillment of the Trust's obligations;
    * Administer the Trust's working budget and maintain proper accounts and records. Monitor the status of both grant and loan funds associated with the Trust;
    * Receive and evluate reports from the Financial Institution(s) administering loan programmes and present recommendations for necessary actions and/or policy adjustments;

    * Ensure secretarial duties at all formal Trust meetings are maintained and recorded properly;
    * Co-ordinate and facilitate the efficient operation of all Trust programmes and support functions;
    * Provide executive follow-up actions on resolutions passed and decisions taken at meetings;
    * Carry out administration of Trust expense account;
    * Attend to correspondence and maintain proper files of meetings, correspondence and relevant documentation relating to the Trust;

    * The candidate will have at least 3 years experience in accountancy and bookkeeping or a related subject;

IT Officer at CSCCU

    Applications are invited to the post of Information Technology Officer (ITO) from suitably qualified and experienced persons.
    The main functions of the post are:
    * To control, support and maintain complete, high integrity of systems, databases and hardware which the Civil Service Cooperative Credit Union (CSCCU) owns or has direct responsibilities and interest in;
    * To maintain systems administration documentation and management reporting that will provide instruction and support for maintenance of the information system;
    * To modify programmes as required to meet the IT needs of the CSCCU within existing agreements with relevant third parties;
    * To develop and maintain acceptable levels of CSCCU user training;
    * To promptly and competently attend to and find solutions to day to day problems related to soft- and hardware.
    Qualification:
    * A degree with a minimum of 2 years experience or a Diploma with minimum of 5 years experience, in Information Technology;
    * NT and SQL, Server Administration.
    Experience:
    * Familiarity with PC hardware maintenance;
    * Experience with SQL, MSACCES;
    * Experience with supporting users and databases.
    Familiarity with Cruise SQL would be an advantage.

    The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association is the parliamentary wing of the Commonwealth and brings together some 15,000 Commonwealth Parliamentarians from more than 164 Parliaments and Legislatures in 51 of the 54 Commonwealth countries around the world. The Secretariat is located in London.
    Secretary General
    Reporting to the Executive Committee of the Association, the Secretary-General heads a staff of 14 and is primarily responsible for the overall promotion of the Association's activities. The Secretary-General is the chief executive officer of the Association and, in that capacity, administers its affairs and manages the staff of its Secretariat. He/she will be a person who has demonstrated leadership qualities and will have an extensive knowledge of Commonwealth and parliamentary affairs.
    The appointment will be for a five-year contract period from 1 January 2002. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will not be less than £70,000 p.a. In addition an overseas allowance of 15% of the gross salary will be paid to a successful applicant from outside the British Isles. A non-contributory pension plan and health care insurance are also provided.
