Monitoring Officer at SLREP

    The Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and the Environment invites applications from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the post of Monitoring Officer in the St. Lucia Rural Enterprise Project (SLREP). The project is funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Caribbean Development Bank and the Government of St. Lucia.
    Qualifications and experience:

    Terms of reference and main duties:
    The Monitoring Officer will:
    * Be responsible for producing and coordinating all financial, physical and impact reports;

    * Supervise the contracting of outside organisations and participate in the Baseline Survey, Annual Impact Surveys and Diagnostic Surveys;

Drug Control Prevention Officer

Information Assistant/Creole at Ministry

    The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries invites applications to the post of Agricultural Information Assistant/Creole for the Water Resource Management Project. This project is funded by the European Union (Stabex Funds) and the Government of St. Lucia.
    Relationship and Responsibilities:
    Works under the direction of and reports to the Project Coordinator of the Water Resource Management Project.
    Duties and responsibilities:
    1. Responsible for the transmission of the latest methods and techniques in Agriculture using mainly the mass media methods to the farming community.
    2. Responsible for the production of audio-visual aids, which will enable staff of the extension division to communicate effectively.
    3. Responsible for the production of daily/weekly Creole radio programmes.
    4. Produce material for the press via news items, features on agriculture, notices, humour strips, public service announcements, etc.
    5. Prepare and develop communication aids - visual e.g. flash cards, wall charts, picture cards, flannel graphs, magnetic boards, teaching charts, slides, flip charts for use by extension officers.
    6. Assist in the area of photography.
    7. Collect and organise material for audio and visual Creole programmes.
    8. Assist in writing press releases for radio and television.
    9. Participate in exposition/exhibitions organised by the Ministry of Agriculture.
    10. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Project Co-ordinator of the Water Resource Management Project.
